The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently browsing the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services to the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it is alarmed regarding the high amount of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a superior number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no fully functional office dedicated to service the area daily. The assistance point established for intervention experiences a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it challenging for your office to attend to all people who go to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise much SRD more sources to help the servicing of all shoppers and maximize use of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
